Aliza's first day of GYMNASTICS

Aliza finding her cubby.

Just watching and waiting for her turn to go in!

Class is over and Aliza is pretty tired out!
It had been about 25 years since I had been involved with  Gymnastics classes.  My kids had taken classes in this same school, way back when..

Today Aliza took her first "tumbling" class.  We had visited and checked it all out in the early fall.
I wasn't sure if she would like this type of activity, but she seems to love hopping, rolling,  general tumbling and it could be a long cold winter that we might be locked indoors.  We watched a few minutes of two different classes and decided to enroll for the winter  program.  It was full. We would have to go onto the waiting list.

Last week we got a call to tell us that there was an opening. We could start with the class in January if we still wanted to try it. (Oh! We so want to try it!) We'll go for 45 minutes, every week.  I think that it's going to be a BLAST!  She was a natural right from the start, her movements were easy and she was sure footed.

It's a class that we do together.  There are about 10 other 2-3 year olds in the class with their Mom's or Grandmother's.  The room is filled with mats and obstacles.  There is a corner with a HUGE trampoline built into the floor- that was our favorite station today.  There is so much still to learn.  We've only tried a few of the stations and there are many more to learn.  Aliza loved following the instructors.
She had NO FEAR when asked to jump into a huge pit filled with foam cubes, climb up a steep slippery mat wall (they called it a mountain)  or hang from swinging rings.  She was a superstar! A very tired superstar.
