Leroy Siever was a friend that I had the strangest relationship with. He wrote a blog for NPR about his battle with cancer. He began writing it about 2 years ago. It was about living with his cancer and all that this meant. That was about the same that cancer entered my life. It entered through the lungs of my husband.
My husband and I both read Leroy's blog daily. We could relate to him so strongly at times. We also could relate to the responses left by his many faithful readers, who replied to his daily blog.

We were so sad to read the news. Shocked too, by the lightening fast speed of his passing. He had been writing about the escalation of growth and the uncontrollable advancement of his disease. Everyday we sensed was getting more difficult for him. We so hope that he passed easily. He seemed so kind and gentle for such a huge man.
Rest in peace my friend.
